mussel beach

It was a bad day to be a mussel in Cape Henlopen State Park this morning as Herring Gulls and Ruddy Turnstones were feasting on bivalves exposed by a low tide.

    Hi Kevin–

Greetings from Guatemala! I’m sitting on a porch at Las Tarrales eco-lodge, which is set amid a shade-grown coffee plantation on the slopes of Atitlan Volcano. Birding is great here, with lots of Delaware breeding birds munching away on bananas, nectar, and bugs, fueling up for their trip north. Baltimore Orioles, especially, are everywhere.

Hope to catch up when I’m back in the First State!

    Jeff
