tug of worm
This morning I met a pair of Delaware’s most elusive and endangered species, the Piping Plover. Strong winds had blown most of the water out of Lewes Harbor near the East End Light exposing sand and mud. I found a pair of Piping Plovers scavenging for whatever they could find when one found a worm. The second plover immediately grabbed the other end of the worm and both struggled in a tug of war for the breakfast treat.

Kevin,
Here at this Seattle hotel computer your piping plover pic makes me homesick, for warmer temps! We’ve been checking your site all along during our journey.
We loved the bunny photo for Easter, too.
And we raved about your site to a couple we met in Mendocino, CA. They were peering out into the Pacific for whales.

now I’m convinced… I always thought it… but after seeing these wildlife images I now know that the hand of a “higher” godly power has empowered you to make these incredible photographs. It’s just a feat to get a good photo of just one plover let alone two sharing-struggling over a worm. God-Light to you.
